Once you read these, you will have a clear understanding of how we work.

Getting a Quote

  • Come in for a visit to Granite City (directions) Bring along samples of your cabinets, tile and any other helpful interior pieces that will help you select the stone for your home. Also come with a layout (or just a simple drawing with measurements) so that we can price out your project on the spot. During your visit we will show you our vast selection of granite, marble, and other natural stone. We will provide you with samples of granite or marble to take home to make your selection easier.

  • Fax over a layout or email us using our contact form with measurements of your project. Please provide us with as much information as you can, regarding your project. This includes:

    • Layout and measurements

    • Stone or Tile ID ( if known)

    • Back Splash, (3" standard) or tiled or combination of both

    • Edge ( if known) Default is standard or pencil

    • Sink ( if known) We can provide one at lower than SRP

    • Do you need Old Counter Tops Removed

    • Will you need Plumbing Services for hook up

Personal information including the Billing Address, Job address, Contact Information, and any other details that will help us determine the quote of the job.

* All estimates are based on the dimensions provided to us

Placing an Order

  • To place an order with our company, we require you to have the following steps complete in your home

  • Cabinets need to be installed.

  • All of the appliances in the kitchen need to be on location. That includes the stove, dishwasher, fridge etc.

  • For Counter tops, The sink needs to be on location so that we may take it back to the shop and use it as a template for the sink cutout.

  •  If you have a current countertop on your cabinets, please make sure it is removed and the sink or cooktop is detached before we come out and template.
We can remove old countertops or provide plumbing support at an extra fee.

Once the above requirements are satisfied, you can give us a call and we can schedule a template for your project! Our installers will provide you with any technical information and will work with you to make sure all the specs and technical details are taken care of, so please have someone knowledgeable present. At the end of templating we require a 50% deposit based on the estimate price. We do not accept credit cards, and the payment must be done in cash, certified check or personal check.

The Final Price

The final price will be calculated based on the measurements taken on the jobsite. We will also verify the stone and the edge selected. If the stone's color pattern or grain is not consistent, we recommend that you come down to our yard so that you can approve the slab(s) and the specific parts of them which will be used for the counter surface. At this point we need your "OK" to fabricate the counter. It usually takes us 3-4 business days to fabricate and install the project after the final price is confirmed.

Installation

The last and final step is the installation. Before we finish the job we require the final payment in the form of cash or certified check. This payment is due no later than on the day of the installation. We can then proceed with the installation. We will install the countertop and seam it if necessary. Last, we will drill the faucet holes and attach the sink.
